I would love to start a thread here for applicants of University of Michigan Winter Term 2017, so post comments on here to talk about admission chances and decisions!
I applied to the college of LSA as a transfer student. Could somebody chance me?
I am currently a sophomore at “public ivy” school. I know what my weakness is. I had a bad second semester last year(2.9 GPA), but I think my extracurricular activities might give me a chance. I had one amazing essay specifically about what I want to do at U of M(I want to double major in Econ and Screen Arts and Culture), two good ones about my involvement on campus, and an average but honest essay for the reasons of why I’m transferring. Obviously you can’t really judge how my essays were, but I thought I put it out there.
Here are my credentials:
ACT Score: 31
Major: Finance, Film Studies Co-Major
College GPA: 3.23
Credits: 31
AP Credits: 15
EC: Treasurer of a business fraternity, secretary of fraternity just coming back on campus, member of a film club, writer for the school newspaper, internship last summer with independent sales agency, dean’s list first semester of college.
High School GPA: 3.5
EC: Three-time state champ for tennis/captained the team to a state tennis championship one year, 3 years on student council where I was the Treasurer, VP, and Trustee, two years of theater, and two years of school media show.
Thanks to anyone who comments!
