University of Michigan?

Applying to lsa, currently a junior

uom gpa -3.9
act- 29 (retaking, i was sick during test could easily get 31 or 32)
ec-not very good only tennis and community service.
courseload- 3 aps so far, 4 or 5 in senior year (Total 7-8) honors math and accelerated sciences
Living instate

You’re in. Maybe honors if you get above a 32. But your numbers are strong. As for ECs, try joining a new club next year or do something awesome this summer (like community service or a summer program).

I’m applying for UMich eventually too. However, your ECs may cost you a bit. Michigan makes their admissions systems rather transparent. They make it very clear how they assess you. I recommend reading that up. However, you do have decent chances but keep working on it. Good luck.

I’d say as an in-state applicant you’re probably on the safer side, but it wouldn’t hurt to add an EC or two. UMich makes it incredibly clear that they want to see leadership positions in extracurriculars. ;)
