University of Minnesota cancel enrollment

The deadline for applying to the u of mn is may 1st. UW madison waitlist results come out in july. If I enroll to the u and get admitted to madison and decide to go, will all the money put down for the u of mn come back? This seems like a question that would easily be answered online, but I’m having trouble finding the clear answer. I just want to make sure. Thanks for any help.

Are you asking about the deposit to accept your spot at UMinnesota?

Yes, the $280 deposit you pay to commit is non-refundable if you decide to go to another school. Other than the $50 non-refundable housing deposit, you will not have to pay anything else until you attend.

Have you thought about what options for housing you will have if you decide to attend UW Madison in July? Is it possible you might not be able to get into the dorms? Just thought I’d point that out. But yes, the $280 and the $50 deposits for UMN are not refundable.
