I'm having a really rough time deciding, so I need help

At this point both colleges cost 30k a year (haven't heard anything about scholarships at minn.
I got into CBS at minn and just a general biology major at UIUC.
I'm honors at UIUC, but not at minn.
I also heard the CBS program is strong, but I don't know how it is comparative to UIUC that's a research school.
I love both cities, they seem great, twin cities moreso.
However I also know as a science school UIUC has more prestige.
Any help would be appreciated! What would you do if you were in my situation? Thank you(:

Lol I’m in like an identical situation except I’m looking into some type of engineering… Idk between Minnesota or UIUC! I love the twin Cities so much more than champaign/Urbana though

For biosciences UM has the clear edge and a better future. Illinois is a mess.

I wouldn’t say Illinois is a mess but University of Minnesota does have edge for biology…

@nriende For engineering, hands down Illinois wins unless its chemical engineering…

Why does Minnesota have the edge over UIUC in Chemical Engineering? Is it because Chemical Engineering at UIUC is in their college of Liberal Arts and Sciences? When we took our daughter on a campus tour of UIUC they said the only reason Chemical Engineering was in their college of Liberal Arts and Sciences is because it was under the chemistry department. Chemistry at UIUC has a great reputation.

U Minn has one of the top 5 ChemE programs in the US by most rankings–better than UI. So does UWis.

My brother is in chemE at illinois right now and there are definitely a lot of problems with the program right now. In my opinion cheme and bio at u minn are not even a choice, and based on what I’ve seen even in other types of engineering, illinois may be losing it’s edge.

Thanks for the helpful comments! Still confused though gah.

Definitely Minnesota. If you got into CBS, great things are going to happen if you come here.
