My grades are:

English 1A Freshman Composition- A

History 11 Perspectives of Peace Studies- A

Psychology 1 Intro To Psych- B

Math 124 Trigonometry- D

I want to transfer into the College of Food, Agriculture and Natural Resource Science.

How bad will that D hurt my admission chances?

How many credit hours do you have? If that’s it then it will most likely be a no. On the other hand if those are the only classes you have taken post your high school stats so we have an idea so we can help you. Those are very easy classes. What do you want to do in College of Food Agriculture Nat. Resource?

Well their transfer admission policy is that if you are transferring with 28+ credits, they do not look at your high school stats.

I am enrolled in these classes for Spring 09:

Speech 1: Communication Fundamentals (3 Cr.)

Chem 1A: General Chemistry (5 cr.)
Chem 106: Basics of Chemistry (2 cr.)

Econ 4: Microeconomics (3 cr.)

Anthropology 2: Cultural Anthropology (3 cr.)

And I forgot to include that I took CA 30: History Of Film (3 cr.) and I got a B.

Also, I volunteer with the Marrow Donor Program when they run drives.

So since I wont have to show my high school scores, would a D count as passing?

Also I am planning to go into Policy and Management.

From personal experience, I can tell you that when transferring to the U of M it really helps if you are coming from Minnesota. I’d recommend that you go ahead and apply, and if you get rejected and are really set on going to Minnesota-Twin Cities, consider finding a lesser campus in state to take courses at, and apply again after you have at least a semester under your belt (they do accept spring transfer students, if that helps at all). As for the D, it certainly won’t help, and it would not be considered a transferable credit (the U requires at least a C- from individual courses). I hope that helps a bit, and good luck!
