I don’t think this is where my D will want to go. But I’m running the numbers on many, many schools so that we are making informed decisions. And I am shocked by this net price for University of Mississippi. Is this right? Or is their Net Price Calculator mistaken, and it stacked scholarships that can’t be stacked?
That is probably correct. The high merit awarding schools are very generous by allowing scholarships to stack. (Not all schools allow it!)
Another tip to consider is that the scholarships you are seeing are admission scholarships. When on your merit hunt, there may be additional scholarships through depts, honors colleges, etc. If stacking of scholarships is allowed, you may be able to reduce costs to full-ride.
@nw2this:
UofO shows 6K.
UK is showing 30K. I think it is incorrect.
UCF is showing 18K, but it didn’t even ask about NF. I believe it applying an “average” grant amount.
Since these scholarships arent’t need based, it may be easier to use these cheat sheets. The awards are the same for everyone who qualifies, so you might not need the NPC.
