I recently applied to Notre Dame and I'm absolutely in love with the university! although i know my chances of being accepted are minimal... i really do want to go there and i'm crossing my fingers to get in. anyhow.. i'm starting a thread to give anyone who wants, an opportunity to say something about notre dame. I want to know more about the university, so if anyone has anything to say about it, feel free to share.
at first... i was a little scared about it being a catholic university; i am catholic, but not the extreme devoted type. so i was scared that they would try to push catholicism to me the next four years. however, after reading from various sources and talking to several students (who are catholic like me and attend ND), i was convinced that nd isn't like that at all.
so if anyone has anything to say which will ultimately be helpfull to me or anyone who is also interested in ND, please do so

Good football team

a girl i know is going there this year and she says she really doesnt like it and is going to transfer because the rules there are too strict or smth....??

Notre Dame is a school of extremes. It has a great reputation, a very beautiful campus, incredible school spirit, great sports (especially football) and a very influencial and close-knit alumni network. However, it is rather secluded in what can only be considered a boring little town, the school is rather homogenious and a little limited and limiting at times. If you are a good fit, Notre Dame is a great undergraduate institution. However, if you aren't a good fit, you will not be very happy. Make sure you are a good fit.

Agree about ND's very strong alumni network.

It is the Regis Philben school.........yes it is Catholic.

Have you visited the university?

YES but I had no interest.......same with Georgetown. You might like it very much and have a high degree of interest.
