I was wondering if anyone knows anything about the honors program at the University of Oklahoma. I’ve been offered a full ride there if I name them as my first choice school for National Merit. I’ve been accepted at some pretty good schools, 7 of the UCs, USC, American, and the University of Florida Honors program. I’m wondering if it’s worth changing my first choice to the University of Oklahoma, especially since I could get a half tuition scholarship from USC for National Merit. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. Also, does anyone know anything about the caliber of this program?

what do you plan to major in?

7 of the UC's? so you go into UCLA?

I'm planning to major in chemistry. UCLA is the only UC that I did not get accepted to, and I'm still waiting to hear from Berkeley, but I'm not holding my breath on that one. I'm considering appealing the UCLA decision, but I'm not sure it's worth it having been accepted to USC.

Well you have UCSD too?

Do you think its worth it to take the full ride at Oklahoma versus paying a lot more money for a more prestigious university? Would you have to take loans for the other universities?

I would have to take out some loans for some of the schools, I've gotten enough in scholarships that I won't have to take out loans for American or USC if I name them as my first choice for National Merit. The thing that worries me most about Oklahoma is that I'm going to be applying to medical school after college, I'm not sure if Oklahoma has the same reputation as some of the other schools I've been accepted into when it comes to applying to med school.

tough choice.

florida is free too, and warmer than Oklahoma
