University of Oregon (UO) Early Action for Fall 2022 Admission

Did you enjoy your visit @Libbygray? We thought the campus looked great. The new track facility and new dorm/dining facility so impressive. Really kind and generous staff/faculty.

D22 a Stamps semi-finalist! One of 36. Got notification through email. Interview at UO late next month.

How was the interview? Is she a finalist?

Yes! The interview went really well. She hasn’t gotten a date for the Zoom interview with Stamps yet. The entire experience at UO was great.

What about you?

I didnt. Congratulations!! Is she planning to commit to UofO?

It’s definitely a serious contender but she still has yet to hear from several of her schools.

My son is looking at UO and will apply in the fall. Any EAs without tests and a GPA around 3.5?

I know someone who was accepted EA four years ago (in-state) with a GPA in the 3.5-3.6 range. An ACT score was submitted back then — only taken once, don’t remember the number, but it wasn’t super high or super low.

S22 OOS was admitted EA 3-4 months ago with a 3.5 UW and test optional. Declined admission as only received $5K grant aid, leaving the remaining cost well above better schools he was admitted to.

Question for you all who have been through this. How long did it take you to hear back after applying? (I do see some of you posted above - all with quite high GPAs - his is good but not in the honors college range)

S23 will submit his app in August (mid to late likely). I know he will have an answer by Dec 15 per the site, but hoping it comes in sooner than that. Also wondering if they just give an answer or if the push any to regular admissions before deciding. He isn’t submitting test scores and we are OOS. GPA is 3.5.

My DS22 applied 9/2 and was accepted 10/16. Also OOS. Good grades with SAT way above UO’s midrange, but not Honors College material. For his friends that applied later in the fall, the turnaround on their decisions was longer than 6 weeks.

My OOS D22 applied around October 23 and heard back on Halloween. She applied to the Honors College and didn’t get her acceptance there until a few weeks later. Maybe even December.

My D22 applied in September and heard six days later. They are fast.

Thank you for those who replied. One other question - when your kid applied, was the counselor recommendation complete? My son is ready to apply but his counselor recommendation won’t be done for 3-4 weeks yet as school is just starting here and they need to focus on that first. I know they need to review holistically so my assumption is that they hold the file until that piece is complete.

My DS’s teacher and counselor recs weren’t submitted until early October. Like your child, DS’s high school starts later and didn’t get around to it until then.
