Supposed to find out today December 15th if my daughter got into Univ Of Oregon and it still says under holistic review which it has said that for weeks now. She applied early.
My son’s status updated (finally) late last night but was “complete” until then. I think I read on here that “holistic review” is actually considered an answer (albeit temporary). Have you sent any updates or extra info there? That might help. But I think it could still change any time from holistic to a decision.
What is the difference? Is holistic like being deferred?
Is holistic a bad thing?
My daughters has said holistic for weeks, I think that just means it’s still under review, no decision.
found this on their site https://admissions.uoregon.edu/content/holistic-review
My son called U of O admissions office on Thursday. His early decision status is Holistic Review. This is considered a decision - albeit temporary. It’s my understanding that he will be receiving a letter indicating what additional information is needed in order for the University to make their final decision on acceptace/denial. Additional information may be a request for Senior year first semester grades, request to retake the SAT/ACT, request for recommendations?? We have yet to receive the letter. With my son, I’m guessing they will ask to see his grades as his GPA is on the lower end of the average, 3.27. In state.
My daughter’s has said holistic review the whole time since the application was marked complete though - which was over 6 weeks ago, in time for the early action application, and just a couple of days after her school has submitted the final transcript. Seems odd that that’s a decision of any kind. Especially after reading what I found on their website about what it says about holistic review. Either way, it’s disappointing that quite a few EA applicants have not heard anything and their Dec 15 deadline is now passed.
