[/ul]Other Factors:
General Comments/Congratulations/Venting/Commiserations,etc: THE ABSOLUTE WORST PART OF THIS ENTIRE PROCESS WAS WAITING FOR UC IRVINE FOR A MONTH JUST TO BE REJECTED. Hehe. On the other hand, I gave UC San Diego a call and they gave me the exact reason I was rejected because they could pull up my file and look at it. It was GPA by the way. And yes, the “chart” of point distribution is valid.

I knew what I was getting myself into, so I’m cool with it. If you need help with preparing for your application or college or whatever, PM me and I’ll be happy to help. I wish I had had some help. Perhaps I would have pushed my GPA a bit more.

nominated for homecoming prince. twice. sweet.

dkbear - damn man, how many schools did you apply to?

hey a-hole: yeah you, honeybunny!
I got into M&T with a score of 1940. Clearly my application wasn’t a “waste of the admission councellors’ time”. Everyone is aware of the incompetency of the SATs in capturing the true intelligence behind an individual. Passion and drive just happen to be a bit more important in today’s world than meagre ability to take tests. I don’t think my score was at all accurate in reflecting my success today, prior to my entrance to UPenn. That is why we have the application PACKAGE composed of essays, extracurriculars, recommendations based on perosnality, (etc), and not just the scores. Idiot.

Harvard started motion to have top schools no longer request SAT scores. Consider that too.

For my friend:

Why do you think you were accepted/rejected/waitlisted: SHE DESERVED IT. SCORES DON’T ALWAYS MATTER!!

General Comments/Congratulations/etc:  !!!

I don’t really care about your so called “friends”, are you in wharton?

Let’s just make things clear. I am referring to WHARTON; the internationally recognized as the #1 undergraduate business school and top 3 MBA schools in the world. I am NOT referring to UPenn CAS and SEAS; the schools where HYPSM rejects come to as their safety.

Please understand that although Wharton is part of Upenn, you have to take into account its weight and power; Wharton is what’s keeping Upenn as an Ivy-league school.

I don’t know where you get your assumptions that SAT is incompetent; I’m guessing it’s a way of trying to justify your weak scores… It really doesn’t matter what you say because SATs are present and will always be present whether Harvard likes it or not.

Maybe there are particular cases but generally SATs do a good job of measuring one’s intelligence level (reasoning and quantitative) and people in wharton SHOULD have a colossal analysis and quantitative skills.

PS. I am not interested in comments from kids in no-name schools. Please when you write a comment to me, state what University you are currently enrolling and if it’s a no-namer, then don’t bother expecting a reply from me because you’re not worth my time.

if this kid is my room mate i am going to go insane

chill, honey bunny…instead of writing this trash, why don’t you just savor these fantastic moments of getting into Wharton…i am still in a reverie.! and sorry for that 2190 < 2200 fiasco but it’s just that u are not the first person who i have come across who’s made these generalizations…many even said i won’t get in because i am 10 points less.! so just calm down, instead of being haughty, savor the success…good luck.

honeybunny, i go to the University of High School (yes, i realize this is a university of extremely high stature)… im actually flabbergasted at the fact that you think because you go to Wharton you are superior to everyone… this is actually quite pitiful, my friend. If you take this approach in life, i can hardly see how you will make yourself successful and happy. people will think nothing more of you than “this guys a jackass”.

PS-- you realize Penn’s M&T program gives an undergrad a degree in econ from Wharton and a degree in an engineering discipline from SEAS, thus making hope4upenn “in Wharton”… if i were to use your reasoning, id say hope4upenn is YOUR EQUAL. does this make you feel stupid?

lolz seas/cas for hypsm rejects…if wharton is what’s keeping Penn afloat, why do cas and seas students/alumni get top internships and jobs? Did you even LOOK at the career surveys?

any Indians here who got into Wharton??
