The wait begins! Can someone post any information/statistics they have regarding deferred applicants?
Hey y’all! Here to officially join the deferred club.
Penn’s website says 171 ED deferred applicants were later accepted for the class of 2020!
Hey @Aztreas what school did you apply to? I clicked on the FAQ link that was on the deferral letter. It said 14% of deferred applicants got in last year
@doorrealthe I applied to Wharton! You?
Was that 14% overall? Did there happen to be a breakdown by school? I haven’t gotten a chance to look at it yet.
@Aztreas same! I just checked out your profile - you look like an awesome candidate! And yeah, it was just 14% overall.
Here’s some of the information about acceptances:http://www.thedp.com/article/2016/12/early-decision-release
Thanks for that article @desie1
@doorrealthe Good luck to you! Contact KWH to tell her your results and ask her what you can do to increase your changes during the RD round…
@desie1 will do! Thanks for your advice!
Hello fellow deferred peeps…the wait begins.
Shall we post stats? Or nah?
I don’t think stats will help much anymore since there’s not much we can do to change anything now, but do you think the admission officers will tell us what might have put us in the deferred pool instead of the admitted pool?
@andpeggyy how will the admission officers tell us? I don’t really see them sending out an email or calling us - although I wish they do!
@doorrealthe I’ve heard that deferred applicants had askedd their school counselors to either email or call the regional admission officer, so maybe that would help boost our chances?
@andpeggyy hm that’s a good point. I’ll ask my GC next week.
Oh well! I guess we’re all in this purgatory sort of stage together Hopefully we can make this thread very helpful by posting all the advice we have on here. We’re gonna need all the tips we can get lol
Also, what other schools will people be applying to in the meantime?
@doorrealthe Haha, thank you! Your profile is amazing in and of itself!
Would it be smart to contact your Penn interviewer for advice?
@galacticpepe I’m going to try for Duke, Cornell, Columbia, NYU & Northwestern. You?
Are we allowed to contact our interviewers?
