@esterling That’s pretty awesome! I wish I knew about that when I was still in HS. Best of luck to Penn decisions. I’m pretty sure I’m not getting in either but, it’s worth a shot. 7 more days!!! >.<
@PixelTomato Did that friend come from places like UChicago or Princeton? Or did he just have average applicant stats?
@inordie He attended the same Community college I’m at and he got into Wharton. Apparently he credits it to joining our CC’s business club? He seemed to have pretty average stats.
@PixelTomato Hmm interesting… I guess essay does have a lot of impact in the decision?
@inordie It’s a social Ivy so that’s what I’m assuming
On the bright side of our likely impending rejection, Jimmy John’s is having dollar sub day May 2nd from 4-8pm.
Might just go there at 5 to make every little thing be okay either way.
@esterling what do you mean “not Penn standards”??!?!
Those are great stats lollll like better than mine
You have a good shot, good luck!!
Ahhhhhh so nervous
@VaishS It looks like we’re both applying to a lot of the same schools! And if I remember correctly you’re also a biology major and pre-med. I understand your frustration, I’m super nervous! Wish you good luck!
@115transfer good luck to you too!!!
@VaishS that’s nice of you to say and I appreciate the vote of confidence, but with odds like these, I think we all pretty much stand the same chance of getting in, even if that chance is slim-to-none. Either way, good luck to you too
Anyone applying as a transfer to Wharton? Currently at Villanova and ps im so nervous.
Hey everyone, I’ve been lurking on this forum for awhile but am just posting now that the decisions come out in a week. I’m currently a freshmen at an Ohio state school applying to the college. I also applied to Columbia, though I’ve lost most my interest in Columbia (never submitted the midterm report haha). I’m currently a biochemistry major with neuro minor (no major at my school, part of the reason I’m transferring), but I’ll probably do the neuro concentration of biology if I get in.
I’m not going to do a full chance me type thing, but how much do you guys think they value research? I had an internship in highschool doing pharmacology research and received some recognition (got to present at Georgetown, but it wasn’t as big of a deal as it sounds), and I’ve been doing research with faculty at my current college. My highschool GPA was meh, like a 3.6 uw, including two Cs (one soph, one junior year). My senior year GPA was a lot stronger, and I got a 4.0 last semester and most likely will this semester. SAT was a 750 R and 740 M. I’m realizing this is shaping up to be a full chance me, so might as well run with it haha. Took 9 APs, got 5s on 7 and 4s on two. I won’t torture you guys by listing extracurriculars haha.
Best of luck to everyone here, hope we all making it.
@kidofcollege I’m wharton too. It’s such a long shot for any eternal transfer idk how to feel about it haha. Nervous, anxious etc
I’m taking GB212, EXP101, MA139, CS180, MA205, and EC111. I also took CDI, but since its not for credit, I didn’t really count it.
How about you?
@terr24lr yea it sounds like they only take around 13 or less Wharton transfers every year. I really just don’t want to open up that rejection letter
Js
@PixelTomato do you think your friend probably had high SATs? Also do you guys think they care a lot about class rank in high school? I had a 3.78 unweighted and 4.0 weighted but compared to some of my high school classmates, that’s very average. But in college I have a 3.94. I’m praying for a miracle into Wharton
@kidofcollege according to him, he credits it to his ECs and essay. I’m not sure about his SATs but I think they were average?
@kc15780 GB 212, Honors GB 214, GB 110, EC 111, MA 126. And are you applying to Wharton? If so did you take your macro class here or off campus?
