**University of Pennsylvania Fall 2017 Transfer Thread**

@penn95 I see! I’m so nervous for decisions…>.< thanks for the clarification

Yo I am deadass stressed out about Tuesday. Also yall’s GPAs are scary I only got a 3.88

I know this is late in the game, but did anyone get an Interview?

4 DAYS 19 HOURS 50 MINUTES 20 SECONDS

@student23456543 they don’t interview for transfers

@VaishS @student23456543 Penn does do interviews for transfer students but on a limited basis.

From the admissions site:

“Alumni interviews are offered to freshman applicants. This includes Early Decision and Regular Decision applicants, as well as QuestBridge Finalists. Interviews are typically not offered to Transfer applicants.”

So, I am not sure what qualifies an applicant to have an interview. It may be like Harvard transfer interviews, which are typically a good sign for prospective students.

Wth Harvard offered interview to transfers? Okay I am not getting in then

@studboy97 From Harvard College admissions site:

“Generally, we do not conduct interviews for transfer applicants. Should the Admissions Committee need more information regarding your application, our office will contact you. Transfer students may not schedule or request their own interviews.”

From reading threads on this site, it is possible to still get in without having a transfer interview. Apparently, these interviews are given to applicants whose decision could go either way (not my words/interpretation, information taken from prior threads). If you live in the Boston area, and you are selected for an interview, you are called to campus for the interview. If you live further away, it is an alumni interview, just like those conducted during the first year admission cycle.

@bradthegrad2019 thanks bro for clarifying. Well, I knew it was gonna be a shot in the dark when I applied to Harvard and Yale. Nonetheless, I put on a good app. Coming from a top 40 LAC rising Junior, 3.88 GPA, a lot of on-campus leadership commitment and Mayor’s office intern (got School $ for that). The only thing is I was a bum in high school and I am hoping AOs can see my growth from my shitty past. Hanging in there with yall for Tuesday.

If anyone on this thread got contacted for an interview for Penn please like this message. This might help us see how likely interviews are and if it was a sign of acceptance (once decisions are out).

@VaishS hey where else did you apply? I did Cornell, Brown, Duke, Columbia, Harvard, Yale, NYU and Notre Dame.

@VaishS I did get an interview, but I am applying to LPS (non-traditional student) so I am not sure if the same criteria apply. Hope this helps!

@VaishS I know this kid who applied to Wharton last year, he got in without an interview, if that helps

PPE as well

@studboy97 No problem! Just sharing what I know to help us and, potentially, future applicants; we’re all in the same boat right now.

I wouldn’t read into anyone’s chances, just because we’re not on the admissions selection committee and don’t know what they’re looking for in their sophomore/junior classes. However, you do look like a great applicant, and there are plenty of others on this thread with similar stats and great extra curriculars. Best of luck to everyone on Tuesday, and on the rest of our upcoming decisions.

@studboy97 I applied to Vandy (accepted), Northwestern (accepted), Penn, JHU, Brown, and Cornell.

@transferguy112 @student23456543 thank you guys <3

@VaishS I applied to the College as well.

Okay I have a much lower GPA (3.63) but I’m an engineering major… but y’all still scaring me LOL

Do sophomore transfers compete with junior transfers? I assume they don’t because they will have different criteria.
