**University of Pennsylvania Fall 2018 Transfer Thread**

@rosen1999 because I didn’t feel the need to post until now? I’ve just been looking at these threads

@Neogotmyback on the inside; however, failure is not getting knocked down - failure is not getting up. Get back up everyone. This is just a bump in the road of life.

@TransferTime1999 Okay, cool

@TransferTime1999 Congrats on Yale! Are you from a cc or a 4 year school?

Rejected for econ

Did anyone get in? Lol

@dryorange Thanks! I’m from a top 15 4 year.

looks like a 7.7% acceptance rate this year. I imagine Wharton in specific may have been as low as 3%. Schools have gotten way tougher.

where did you get these data

Holy crap… I just got accepted into Wharton!!! I’m in shock right now

accepted for CAS!

accepted CAS! I am kinda worried, I have a C+ on my transcript but the rest are gonna be A or A-. will they cancel my offer?

What are peoples rejection letters saying?

Anybody know how to access the financial aid package?

@rosen1999 I remember telling you I’d get back to you when official decisions were out. My daughter did officially get accepted today, and did receive a Likely Letter on February 27th from Eric Furda.

"Dear ______,

I am delighted to inform you that, pending your continued academic success and overall good-standing as a school citizen, you will likely be admitted to the College of Arts and Sciences. The Admissions Committee recognizes your academic and extracurricular achievement and looks forward to welcoming you to the Penn family.

We hope this early evaluation will help you plan your next steps in the college admission process, and take those steps with confidence. In the past, nearly all recipients of this letter were admitted.

You are uniquely suited to thrive at Penn, and I look forward to informing you of your official decision in May."

I didn’t mean to be evasive, but I worried that posting details would not be appropriate and probably frowned upon by admissions until it was official. I came on this board to see what I could learn about Likely Letters and the transfer process. To your point once, there is a lot of anxiety around college decisions. I just wanted learn as much as I could to prepare for whatever outcome.

She was unofficially recruited at Harvard last year which, she learned the hard way, is not at all uncommon, and is not a thing. She applied to UPenn RD and got waistlisted. Penn has been her top choice due to her major but the extra support at H seemed worth redirecting. She applied to Penn this year and then reached out to their coach, and that’s what prompted the letter. She’s a strong student and athlete, so she is a good overall fit for Penn.

Also wanted to mention that she is not at UConn, but coincidentally at Trinity - so she is in CT! I hope you’re in as well … best of luck!

@bzheng5587 the checklist indicates it will be available “soon” and to keep checking back on your portal. They said they will also email you the information when it is available.

Accepted CAS
