<p>it means one page. you have the freedom to single space, double space, change the margins, change the font etc.(within reason, because you want it to be easy for them to read)</p>

<p>Single space it. This allows you to write more. And as a reference, when colleges let you paste your essays in to a box(rather than uploading a file), the essay is always auto-formatted in single space. Same thing with the common app activity essay.</p>
