hey...does anyone know what grades (GPA, SAT, etc.) it takes to get into Univ. of Penn.??

There is an entire thread of accepted/denied stats posted just this week.

Thank you.

there are some "standards" but I would have to say that Penn is looking for much more than a smart student. Since SAT isn't really weighted that high, I'd have to say that a high GPA is very favorable. I was someone whose SATs wasn't the highlight of my life but my GPA was great. Essays are also very important at Penn. I mean how to you separate a bunch of smart students...you look for the interesting/unique people with great essays.

Funny thing... I was the exact opposite...

Grades weren't the best thing for me(School doesn't calculate a GPA, but mine overall has to be about 3.35), nor my choice of classes... I should have taken a few harder classes, and the one thing that seriously might have helped me were my SAT scores...

I didn't think my essays were that great, but they were pretty decent.

On the other hand, I believe my interview went VERY well.

So, there's no formula for how you get into Penn, but make sure the grades are at least good, along with the SAT scores, and have very good essays.
