Got accepted today, invite to honors college, pre-law. Out of state, way out of state (Nebraska…) Stats are 34 ACT 4.0 unweighted, 7 or so dual credit courses (AP not offered.) Good ECs. Anyway, got the abbreviated app, do you need to send in recommendations for merit aid consideration? I’ve got to visit, want to see more…looks like a fun college town and some good research opportunities.

Daughter accepted to Nursing! Applied September 12. Acceptance letter issued September 22. ACT 30. WGPA 4.1. So exciting!!

Pitt received my application with all materials on September 17. I applied to Dietrich. When do you think I will receive my decision by mail. I live in NJ by the way.

@djays1997 If this is the “special application” they say they will make a decision within 21 days.

YESSS! Got in today! So excited!!!
SAT: 2080 Superscore (720 CR, 690 M, 670 W)
ACT: 31(33 E, 31 M, 28 R, 30 S, 9 W)
SAT Subject: 750 Math II, 750 US History
GPA: 3.6/4.0 Unweighted
A really good essay in my opinion.

@PIT2019 I got into pre-pharmacy too! The letter said I was “qualified” for the conditional program, so does that mean I’m in? Or do they need to send in other material?

I just got in the School of Arts and Sciences!!! I’m ecstatic because I thought my scores were too low, but apparently not!
SAT: 1810 superscore (630 CR, 600 M, 580 W)
GPA: 3.7 weighted (7 honors and AP)

Pitt received all my materials on September 30th. When can I expect to receive a decisions?

If it helps, I did not apply with a special status application.

D got her acceptance!
Swanson Engineering with Honors invite (to folliw)
Fingers crossed for merit.
She submitted back in July with the Special Status form, but her transcript only got sent the week before last.

Scholarme congrats! Did the letter come in the mail? Is there any mention of going into the " scholarship pool"? My D’s app was complete on October 6 so I am hoping she will hear something by the end of this month.

Thanks @twogirls! It came in the mail in a big envelope with Congratulations stamped on it. It said her app would be reviewed for scholarships, notification to follow. I hope your D gets her reply soon!

Thanks and congrats again! I run to the mailbox every day but I suspect it will be at the very least another week.

Congrats @scholarme! DS was accepted this week too. His application was complete on September 29 and the envelope from Pitt was postmarked Oct 7, so there is a very good chance your D will hear this week, @twogirls

Thanks STEMFamily. It would be exciting to get a first acceptance from a school that she actually likes!! Her app was complete exactly one week after your S’s, which means if we are lucky an acceptance will arrive at the end of next week. Very exciting and congrats!!

Congrats @scholarme and @STEMFamily!

@twogirls - I am sure your D’s pkg is on its way. We are a little behind all of you but D’s app should go in this coming week. Everything is ready except one of the LORs…

Good luck FromMD. The transcript was the last part of her package to arrive which is nice because it gave us time to make sure all of the letters arrived. She received an email thanking her for the resume.

hey to all, this was last year but my son got his acceptance letter on a Friday. i have heard pitt makes decisions on Fridays, and the letters go out early the next week which means many will get their letters towards the end of the following week. and good luck!!!

Quick question, did you guys actually write 7,000 characters. Thats insane

jboon12345, maybe yours was one of the apps they decided 2 days ago. what are your stats? if you prefer to send me a pm, taht’s fine. my general advice is the higher the stats, the quicker you will hear. that being said, pitt seems to be committed to giving everyone an answer fairly quickly. did you get on their portal to check app status? although i’m not sure it will tell u if you are admitted right away. also, check your junk email. if they want updated test scores or mid semester grades, i think they send e-mails and sometimes those wrongly end up in your junk email folder by your internet provider. and are you sure Pitt has everything?

@lylukas
Mine was only around 4000 characters, I agree it’s pretty difficult to get to 7000 characters and I don’t think they really expect us to. I’m sure they look for the content of the essay over its length.
