University of Pittsburgh Class of 2022

Hi everybody! I was wondering if someone could tell me about how long after receiving the acceptance email, do you receive the official letter in the mail? Thank you

@garliccroutons, do you mind tell us the date on which you submitted your application?

@1down4togo is your daughter planning to play field hockey in college? My daughter has Pitt as one of her top two choices and she is hoping to play on Pitt’s Club team that has been quite successful over the years. I told her another FH Captain got their acceptance and Honors College eligibility as well and she was super excited. This was such a great way to start her senior school year! Anyway figured I’d reach out and congratulate another FH Parent.

@hemingways It was 3 days for us (OOS in NJ).

@pickledginger Now the real stress starts :(. She was really excited today looking at course catalogs online and really seriously considering her 2nd Major at Pitt. It’s all very surreal. I hope our kids the merit they need to make Pitt affordable.

@Winky1 you are right! That was just me, being confused. Thanks for the information. 3-4 weeks makes more sense. Waiting with great hope. School of Engineering, 35 ACT, 1510 SAT, 3.8 GPA, 5s on AP Physics and Calc

Stats sound great to me, @Finnb !Good luck.

@AmyBeth68 Congrats to your daughter on being accepted to one of her top choices! My daughter is not sure yet if she will try out for club FH. She also plays soccer and is thinking more about that as a club sport. Agree that it is a great way to start senior year with an acceptance to Pitt! She loves the city and the campus. Best of luck to your daughter on her other schools!

@Pghgrl Is your daughter in state or OOS?

So, the accept and decline buttons appeared on my D’s mobile app on Friday but still no emails…anxiously waiting.

Our DD just got her email notice 1/2 hr ago.
Admitted to: Dietrich School of Arts & Sciences (Computer Science)
GPA: 4.6 UW
SAT: 1590
Application Submitted: Sep 1
Application Completed (SAT scores sent) : Sep 7
State of residency: In-State

Have to commend and thank the UPitt admission team for their efficiency and help. They were very helpful over the phone answering my daughter’s questions.

Congratulations @stwide19!

^^ Sorry GPA should say 4.6W/4.0UW. And for those who are waiting mobile app accept/decline buttons showed up on thursday sep 14th.

@stwide19 - congrats! Thanks too about the info on the accept/decline buttons…fingers crossed for news tomorrow!

Did someone with SAT scores within 50% range get accpetance or rejection e-mail yet?

Thanks @AmyBeth68 and @m2msoccer.

@m2msoccer although it is hard to discern a pattern. Of the 3 admits I know - email was received two business days after accept/decline button email showed up. You can probably expect the email tomorrow after 3 PM EST. Wishing you and your D the best.

Does anybody know if they ever send a letter but not an email? @hailtopitt1787

@Sgmom17 … my son has SAT 1180, UW GPA 3.5, weighted 5.21 applied 8/3 and no response yet. We just know he is in committee review now. Expecting additional SAT score and or mid term grades request since his SAT’s are 50/50

@alliestaman22… they will get a letter if they are declined. No email will go out and nothing will update on the mobile app as that technically isn’t used to track app status.

@alliestaman22, If you are admitted to the Pittsburgh campus, you will receive an email first (followed by a letter). Most of our other admissions decisions for students with domestic addresses are sent out via letter.

Best,
A Pitt Admissions Staffer

@m2msoccer it seems we are in the same boat. I think our D’s mobile app changed the same day. Her one friend that got in said it took about 2 or 3 days later and then tbe email came. Another classmate had her mobile app change today also. She applied day 1. Hope email comes soon. It is exciting but getting anxious for official confirmation.

Buttons turned today!

@hailtopitt1787 @Hopetobeapittmom Thank you both!
