One more question. If I am taking the August SAT and September ACT and they will be directly sent to Pitt after the testing scores are released, will these be considered in my application?
Thank you @carachel2 and @hailtopitt1787 . I appreciate the clarification!
@Winter08, If you are taking tests after submitting your application - please just let us know (either on the application if you have not submitted it yet, or by emailing oafa@pitt.edu if you have). If the Admissions Committee reviews your application and finds they need more information before making a decision, they will let you know that they are waiting for those updated scores.

@hailtopitt1787 Hopefully you can ease my daughter’s fears or help us remedy a situation. She completed her application and short answers and submitted them. Unfortunately she’s worried now (after filling out the common app) that she mis-reported her weighted GPA. Her GPA is weighted to a 4.55 on a 4.0 scale but she thinks she put 4.55 on a 5.0 scale. She’s not sure if the Pitt App requested the scale or not as the common app does. This is obviousy a big difference and she’s panicking a bit. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
@AmyBeth68, We ask that students provide their weighted GPA, if available. If your daughter needs to make any changes to her application record, she can contact us and we can make a note to update her application: 412-624-7488 oafa@pitt.edu.
It is not a big deal, though! As long as she contacts us with the correction - we are happy to help her fix it!

Thank you so much @hailtopitt1787. She wasn’t sure if the application had requested what the GPA was out of. Eg 4.0 or 5.0 or if it just requested the weighted GPA. The reason she got nervous is because the common apication asks that question. Sorry if I’m being confusing haha. Maybe Pitt just asks for weighted GPA… Not whether it’s out of 4.0 or 5.0 thank you!
Hello!
We ask for weighted GPA and class rank (if available). When entering GPA, students have the option to enter the GPA number and then indicate in a drop down if it is weighted or unweighted, but do not have the option to provide more information than that. The GPA should match the transcript, so if it matches the transcript as she entered it and is weighted as we request - she should be good to go!

D18’s GC told us to use 6.0 for the weighted GPA scale since DE & AP classes award 6 points for an A, while honors courses award 5 at her school.
Does anyone know if for the SSAR I put the order of classes differently as listed on my transcript will that be an issue? (EX: for 9th grade my transcript had English, history, math listed in that order but on the SSAR I put English, math, history) I’ve already put all my classes and it would take alot of time to redo it. But if it is a real issue i will definitely take the time to make sure everything is done correctly.
Thanks for that tip @BoroDad. Had to switch to IE from Chrome but it all worked.
@Trackrunner445, The order they are listed in shouldn’t be an issue as long as the grades and course names match - and they are in the right academic year.

I had a quick question regarding my SRAR. I attended a different school in the first semester of 10th grade than I did in the second semester, and my classes did not all stay the same. In my official transcript of my current school, it lists some year-long classes that I took the second semester of as though I took the same ones in first semester if that makes sense.
I have a copy of my unofficial transcript of my old school, so should I use that transcript to fill out 9th and first semester of 10th grade and then send both official transcripts if requested? Technically, the official transcript of my current school shows all my grades but does not accurately name all my classes.
Thank you!
Hello, @Soccer1235 -
Unfortunately, I am much better at answering more general questions about how the SRAR works than diving into specific situations. I highly recommend that you give our office a call, one of our admissions counselors or processors will be able to talk this specific case through with you in much more detail. They will be able to help you determine how to fill out the application in the way that most accurately reflects your transcript!

I have a question about the SRAR. Two years on the transcript I submitted to Pitt is listed in a different order than it is on my official transcript? Does the order matter or am I freaking myself out?
My daughter just sent in her completed application! Good luck to all - Hail to Pitt!
@Winter08, As long as the dates, course names, and grades match - I don’t think you have to worry about the exact order you are listing the courses in. If you would like to double check, you can contact one of our processors or enrollment managers.
You can contact our office if you need to make a correction/update to your SRAR after applying: 412-624-7488 or oafa@pitt.edu.

Does anyone know when/how students are notified of whether they are honors college candidates? At acceptance? When aid offers are sent out? Some other time?
First you get the acceptance video, then the mailing and I believe the Honors College acceptance letter soon after before any of the Aid award offers are sent. After acceptance you will be flooded with mailings, so open and read them all. Good luck.
@Pickledginger, Students are not technically accepted into the Honors College - the Honors College is not a membership-based organization. The big question for Pitt’s Honors College is, are you eligible to enroll in honors courses? If so, then you are automatically eligible and do not need to be admitted into the college. If you are not, you will need to speak to your academic advisor about your interest in honors courses and go from there. All of the details about eligibility to enroll can be found on the honors college website: http://www.honorscollege.pitt.edu/course-eligibility
As for when you will hear about honors in the admissions process, students who are admitted get a separate letter (after their admit letter) confirming that they are eligible to enroll and inviting them to participate in the Honors College.
Hope that helps clarify!
