@bbogz13 what was your gpa if you don’t mind sharing?
@luckynumber22 I was accepted to the business school in early October! I applied 9/24 and heard back in two weeks.
Congrats!! Can you share your stats?
@luckynumber22 1290 SAT, 4.0 uw gpa, 4.1 weighted (my school only has a few APs and I took all of them), and I thought I had really strong essays.
3.87 unweighted, 5.78 unweighted. Got a few B’s freshman year Got into the school of Dietrich School Arts and Sciences for Chem idk if that’s hard to get into or not
My daughter submitted her application on 10/8, it was complete by 10/14, her buttons changed last Friday 10/26 and she received the admissions e-mail today! So excited for her! Accepted to Dietrich for History.
She’s homeschooled and her stats were SAT 1470 (790 CR and 680 Math), GPA unweighted 4.0, and a couple of interesting ECs including an internship in the Physical Anthropology department at the UPenn Museum and working at the local rock climbing gym. No APs before this year - right now she’s doing AP Lit and AP Env Sci, and self studying for the AP Art History exam as well. She took the SAT subject tests in Lit (750) and US History (730) to back up her grades.
@hailtopitt1787 thanks! I’m impressed with the whole app thing the school has for admissions. My son will just keep checking to make sure it’s all complete over the next few weeks.
Can someone tell me how find out if my application is complete or not?
Also what does it mean if an application is “complete”?
Hello everyone! I’ve been looking at these threads throughout the entirety of my high school career and I’m so excited that I’m finally able to comment! I applied to the University of Pittsburgh school of arts and sciences about three weeks ago and I just got the video confirmation that I was accepted today! For those who are wondering, I have a 31 ACT (although I just retook it an am waiting on the results) 3.8 weighted GPA, in the IB program, had an internship researching Huntington’s disease at the University of Michigan for the past two years, in NHS, lots of volunteering hours, and an extremely large amount of other extracurriculars.
Congrats to everyone else and go Panthers!
@hailtopitt1787 hello, is it more promising to be become an admitted if deferred to to the waiting list, or be requested for mid-year grades. Would someone be deffered but not be asked for midterm grades?
Hello! Asking for mid-term grades is not necessarily connected to any particular admissions decision or anything you need to read into. When we ask for mid-term grades, we just mean that the Admissions Committee wants a little more academic information before making a final decision on an applicant. Good luck!

If my friend and I applied 9/18
She used the Pitt application, I used the common app. Her buttons changed but my screen still says “no pending applications”
Does that mean I got rejected?
^^^ @hailtopitt1787
@7T01R01, Since the portal doesn’t show actual admissions decisions, I can’t predict what your decision would be based off just a change in status in the portal. Your best bet is to wait for an email/letter from us. We should be in touch very soon. Good luck!

A Pitt Admissions Staffer
The change wasn’t in the portal it was shown on the Pitt ps mobile app
Which is why I was confused because her buttons changed today but it still says no pending applications on the mobile app for me @hailtopitt1787
@7T01R01, Sorry - I meant the PS Mobile app when I said portal.
Another important thing to keep in mind, we try to review applications close to the order that they were received. But we have multiple reviewers for each application, so decisions don’t come out in exact order. Even if two people apply on the same day, it won’t necessarily mean that they have the same changes in their PS Mobile on the same day.
And again, it’s very hard to extrapolate a specific decision from a change in PS Mobile because there are multiple decisions that could have been made - which is why I encourage you to wait for an email/letter.
I hope that helps clarify? I am slightly confused by your question - so I hope I am answering it in a way that is helpful!

A Pitt Admissions Staffer
Yes that makes sense
Thank you so much!

@hailtopitt1787 I applied 10/12/18 when do you think I’ll hear a decision by ?
Also I am confused is Computer Science in college of Engineering because since it’s the first year do they have a separate information and sciences college ?
Thank you
@hailtopitt1787 Is there a specific date for when honors college acceptances come? I applied before November 1st by the way.
