University of Pittsburgh Class of 2023 Discussion Thread

@opallady,

We apologize for delays with processing the Common Application. Please note that this delay will NOT impact committee decisions. We recognize the original date of application submission no matter when the application is processed. We anticipate fully processing the students who have applied via the Common Application by the end of the week. This does not mean that they will be reviewed by committee yet, although that’s very soon, but they should receive confirmation of their completed application via email and if they call with questions, our staff will be able to see their application and are ready to help.

Best,
A Pitt Admissions Staffer

@hailtopitt1787 Excellent! Thank you for keeping us in the loop! I appreciate it!

My daughter applied yesterday. For those of you who already applied, how long did it take until you received your email with username that you can use in the mobile app?

Hi everyone, I just got accepted into the school of Nursing! They sent me the email at 1:45pm today and I also received the letter in the mail. I applied 9/14 for anyone wondering.

hello everyone, on pitt mobile i click on the accept/decline under admissions but then it says no pending applications. is this a good sign?

@MominPA2017 D19 submitted her application on 9/8 and she received her e-mail with log-in on 9/12. She just checked the app and no decision yet.

is there an order to the way they send there acceptances? cause i applied 8/9 and many people who applied way after have gotten decisions back and i’m starting to lose hope

i applied on one of the first days the application came out, around august 2nd. still haven’t heard back. it says complete on the website and “no pending application” on the mobile app but people who have applied much later than me are hearing back. I applied to dietrich with the honors supplements. I called the admissions office and they said it was in committee but I just hope I hear back soon so I can stop stressing

Twin S19 and D19 submitted apps on 8/17 and 8/21. Just now received acceptance letters that also pre-admitted them both to their respective Pitt Grad schools. They are surprised and happy.

@r200104, Don’t lose hope - it’s not a bad sign that you haven’t heard yet. We have just started sending out decisions and are working hard to get everyone a decision as quickly as we can. Good luck!

How do you use pitt mobile app to check admissions? I don’t see any section for admissions. thank you!

Congrats @lola3253! This kind of gave me anxiety because I plan on applying tomorrow for nursing  Did you mention you extracuriculars/ leadership in your application anywhere?

@hailtopitt1787 Just out of curiosity, why does PITT not take account extracurriculars/ leadership in the application process?

@G_2019LAG, It’s not that we don’t take those factors into account - we just encourage students to weave their most meaningful extracurricular/leadership experiences into their Short Answer Question responses rather than sending us a list. We want a more in-depth picture of how these experiences shaped you - it helps the Admissions Committee get to know you better. I hope that helps clarify!

Good luck,
A Pitt Admissions Staffer

my friend just got into business school yesterday. applied 9/4.

@drings was their application completed on the 4th or did they only submit on that day?

she submitted her app on that day, and got the confirmation email 2 days later. Official transcript not sent from school yet. SAT scores were submitted.

D received letter of acceptance yesterday in the mail. Website and app still just say " Application complete" No accept button. She was also invited to apply to Medicine GAP. OOS

Anyone know what the time frame is for notification of acceptance to the honors college? Does that come with the acceptance letter or are students notified later?
