@drings that is definitely the company line. Nothing is definitive until you receive the email. However, from these threads, and my D’s experience, the mobile app changes first. She received the email about 3 business days later. Still waiting on the snail mail.
@Winky1 Can you tell me based on your experience from last year, if you get the buttons on your mobile application that that is for sure an acceptance ? Looking through this thread from last year, it certainly seems that way, but I guess we don’t want to get too excited until we know for sure. And hopefully the email will be arriving in a few days. Thanks so much.
@Pjchristie21 sure!! I got a 32 on my ACT, 1460 on my sat (800r/w 660m), and 4.4/5 weighted 3.9/4 unweighted. I applied 8/14 and the buttons changed about a week ago. My acceptance to the School of Nursing came on 9/17.
My kid applied mid August, buttons changed last Tuesday, email received the following Monday, letter arrived on Tuesday a week after button change and day after email.
I didn’t tell her about the button change just in case. I thought of it kind of like a likely letter that some schools send out. It’s a really strong indication that an acceptance is likely to come but you can’t count on it until it is official.
Agree after reading all the posts from the 2022 thread … buttons first and then email and then letter . The buttons are also a way to put down your deposit … can’t imagine you’d have that option if not for real .
But having email and / or letter certainly makes it official .
Does anyone have any idea how often or when the buttons update? Is it once per day or is it constantly updating as they review the apps?
For those who applied by Common App within the last two weeks, have you received your email login yet? D is still waiting for that first email and she applied Monday Sept 10… perhaps @hailtopitt1787 has an update? Thanks!!!
@opalllady, You should get the login email very soon!
There have been some delays in processing the Common Application. The issue has been fixed and will NOT affect the admissions committee decisions regarding admissions, scholarships, guarantees, or Pitt Honors. We anticipate fully processing the students who have applied via the Common Application by the end of the week.
This does not mean that they will be reviewed by committee yet, although that’s very soon, but they should receive confirmation of their completed application via email and if they call with questions, we will be able to see their application and are ready to help.
Best,
A Pitt Admissions Staffer
@hailtopitt1787 Thank you for your prompt reply!
what is the mobile app called?
Pitt PS Mobile is the app! Use the email they sent you after applying to log in and activate your account!
D19’s buttons changed today showing the accept and decline. Hoping this means an acceptance. Hopefully, the e-mail and letter arrive soon. She applied on 9/8 via the school app to Dietrich.
Hi @Senior_1999 , yes, last year when someone got the buttons saying Accept or Decline, they were accepted! More info. came shortly thereafter in the form of an email and postal letter of acceptance.
@Winky1 thank you ! I’ve been reading the posts from last year, and figure if seeing af least a couole dozen that said their buttons changed and then got an email later , it would have to be pretty decent evidence . Is your son/ daughter enjoying Pitt ? It’s definitely one of my son’s top schools .
@Senior_1999 , my D is really enjoying Pitt. She is in the Honors College, but wanted to live in Nordenberg. She did get Nordenberg Hall, and it’s location is perfect and the amenities are top notch. (I do believe starting next year, Honors College students must live in Sutherland.) So, Nordenberg started it all off great. She is a Neuroscience major, and she was accepted into the GAP Physician Assistant Program, so that was just fantastic. She is starting with some exams this week, and so far, so great! She is taking Chemistry, an English Comp course, Cultural Anthropology, Brain and Behavior, and Developmental Psych. A little variety.
She attended the Activities Fair, and she signed up for lots of clubs knowing she’d only be staying with the ones she is most interested in. She really likes the Pre P.A. one. She has attended football games, men’s soccer game, and plans on attending a women’s volleyball match, as they are ranked high and doing very well this year.
She is also going to attend a lecture on global warming next week which is offered through the Honors College.
Lots to pick and choose from and I bet there’s even more she doesn’t know about! She is going to look into an internship as well.
A wonderful school all around. Best of luck to those waiting for decisions and Congrats to those who have heard!
And to close the loop, my D received the mailing today to confirm her admission.
For future readers, the app’s buttons turned last Thursday, the email arrived the following Monday, and the mailing arrived today. We are OOS in the mid-atlantic, FYI. Good luck to all!
@NovaMom93 congrats to your daughter and thanks for sharing . My son’s buttons changed on Tuesday, so I’m hoping he gets the email by tomorrow ( although I said it could take up to a week ). Congrats again !
My buttons on the app changed Tuesday and I clicked accept on the app. I just got an email today that says “Welcome to The Pitt Family”
@alexarose334 Did you pay the tuition deposit after you hit accept?
@alexarose334 CongratS!! Did you just get the email ( after 3:00)?? Just wondering if my son will get it today as well as his buttons changed on Tuesday too
