I applied to Pitt yesterday 10/10 via Common Application and am submitting the SRAR today. Can anyone offer some insight on what to do now? How do I set up a Pitt Portal account that everyone is talking about where they see the buttons/application status?
@namelessnancy You’ll receive an e-mail from the Technology Help Desk in 2-3 days with instructions. Be sure to check your spam folder. Once you set up your account you can select the Pitt PSMobile tile and then Admissions on the left. Best of luck!
@Jpdonato That seems to be the case from everything I have read on these threads. My daughter’s buttons changed this past Thursday, but we are still awaiting the acceptance e-mail and/or snail mail. According to my understanding, if a branch campus is not listed with the buttons then it’s main campus. Best to you!
Looks like my daughter was accepted!! She logged in for the first time today and sees the Accept/Decline buttons for Dietrich. Kind of anti-climatic since she didn’t get an acceptance email but we will eagerly await it. The decision came about three weeks after she submitted the Common App. OOS (MD), 4.0 UW, 4.6 W, 1420 SAT
Very exciting, it is at the top of her list - she fell in love with the campus when we visited last fall.
Anyone else still waiting from August? Anyone think it delays consideration if a student is applying to Pitt Honors but does not submit the honors application right away?
@phlped: i think it is more tied to the stats and the college you are applying to. Folks with really high stats are hearing back sooner irrespective of OOS or In-State.
From what I have read the Honors application and merit aid are handled separately by the admission office at a later time. What were your stats?
My daughter got the buttons today. Submitted application on 9/21, complete on 9/24.
OOS, 4.0 UW/ 4.5ish W, no test scores.
She hasn’t cared to check for the buttons so I’m not going to say anything and she’ll get the cute acceptance email in a few days. More fun that way for her.
I just paid my daughter $10 to check the portal for the buttons (for those that didn’t read my previous post: bribing her to let me see if the buttons show as she doesn’t want to ruin the email/mail surprise). Hurray the buttons appeared but I had to pretend that nothing changed as I had promised her I won’t let her know.
Applied 9/23, OOS, 3.85 UW/4.3ish W, no test scores, 13 AP courses (mostly 4s and 5s), solid EC and recommendation letters.
Hi there! Does anyone know how to see if your application is complete? I have my Pitt Portal account but it only says “no pending applications at this time”.
Also, @hailtopitt1787 you may be able to help me with this one. I selected “Naviance E-Doc” when submtting my transcript relese form. My school counselor had suggested this as thats the option to select when self reporting. Turns out I don’t think thats correct. So they got my official transcrpt via Naviance E-Doc. Is that a problem?
@namelessnancy that shouldn’t be a problem, as long as we have all the materials we need you should be okay. The main reason we request your SRAR is for faster processing time.
Also, to check if your app is complete go to pi.tt/peoplesoft > click main menu in the upper left-hand corner > select self-service > select admissions > click appliction status
