University of Pittsburgh Class of 2025 Official Discussion Thread

I got the email last Friday with the cute video that I was accepted. I have not received anything in the mail yet. Anyone else?

Anyone get the Accept/Decline buttons but not get an email or letter? We’ve had the buttons for 2-3 weeks but nothing else. When I click on Accept/Decline it says there is no longer an application in the portal. Does that sound right?

Finally got the buttons today. Waiting has been really tough.
Accepted to Dietrich for Pre Medicine.
Applied on 11/5

I got the email a few days after the buttons came up however, I still did not receive a letter from them and it has been a week since I received the email.

Thank you for letting me know. Having daughter reach out to them now.

Anybody know if we don’t hear anything from admissions by today can we expect to not hear anything until after staff returns in January? Thanks!

Yes, that’s what we’ve been told. If we don’t hear by today, then we’ll hear in January.

Just thought I’d let you know, since we were on a similar timeline…son got letter today requesting mid-year grades. Disappointing. Hopefully you’ll hear good news soon!

Thanks for the update! Still waiting… oh well, maybe get a letter soon or hear in Jan!

Thanks for the update!

Does UPitt take LOR (letter of recommendations) from school counsellor and teachers ?
Can you please let me know ASAP

I heard that they usually don’t but since they went test score optional they are considering them. I asked admissions about adding in an extra essay and they said if I submit it they’ll look at it.

Never received an email. Had the buttons for about two weeks when he received the letter in the mail. Nothing on honors or merit aid yet.

I recently applied to the School of Nursing at Pitt, and I was wondering if anyone applied to nursing test optional. I understand that for this particular major submitting test scores is required, however they noted on the website that those applications without scores could still be considered on a case by case basis. I was only able to test one time due to cancellations and I do not think my test scores reflect at all of how I am as a student, and I planned on retaking them however covid once again got in the way of that. Anyways, has anyone been accepted into nursing without submitting test scores? Or would it make sense for me to submit them anyways since it is required? Thanks so much for the helpful tips.

@shecago11 D21 only took it once as a baseline the beginning of junior year. She never was able to take it again but she did submit the less than stellar score, explained why it was not up to par and was accepted. I would call the AO for your area to advise you. Good luck!!!

@SDSUHopefulClassof2025 Congrats! Did it come by snail mail or email?

Thanks!

Snail Mail! I am a bit concerned because my portal has not been updated with it yet

I was able to see my sons scholarship at one point on the portal under the financial aid tab but now its gone. That was a couple of weeks after he got his snail mail letter.
