i have no to dos and it says it’s still pending
Then it appears to be under review
S24’s accept/decline buttons appeared today - decision was pending as of yesterday. Applied 8/15, received ‘Activate Account’ email on 8/16, and activated on 8/16. He is a CS applicant to the School of Computing and Information.
How long did it take for the letter to show up in the document center after the accept/decline button appeared?
My daughter’s letters appeared in the document center the day after the accept/decline buttons appeared.
Thank you and congrats!
Accept/decline button appeared Saturday Aug 26th
Acceptance letter was in document center Monday Aug 28th
(for School of Computing & Information)
Oh wow on a Saturday! Thanks for the info. Congrats!
Hi All:
My son got the accept/decline buttons in his portal today. No letter or email yet. He completed his application and SRAR 3 weeks ago. He applied for admission into the business program - specifically, business analytics. I can confirm that when my daughter applied 3 years ago, this was the process as well. Buttons appeared first then the acceptance came.
Congrats! My daughter was also accepted into the College of Business for Business Analytics. Her buttons appeared on 8/28 and her letters were in the document center on 8/29 (in the evening).
That’s great! I love Pitt’s rolling admission process. As an aside, my daughter is a junior at Pitt and has loved it (different major). We have no complaints about Pitt at all. Best of luck to your daughter through this process!
For parents or students more familiar with the PITT process, by when should we expect to hear for the merit awards. Per the admit letter, it states that the review starts in Oct and then till March, so should I start worrying starting October, or is there a chance that we can hear sooner? We are OOS and having scholarship is key to saying yes to Pitt. TIA!
I too would like to know the answer to this. I would assume that they would review students in the order in which they were accepted. Meaning the earlier you are accepted the earlier you will receive information. But that may be the case.I know someone who was accepted in September last year and heard about 3 weeks later.
Did your letter actually mention merit decisions? mine did not
S24’s acceptance letter had this on second page:
“When will I hear about Pitt Scholarships?
Students submitting a completed application for admission, along with their personal statement or Common Application essay, by December 1, are automatically reviewed for merit scholarships. The Scholarship Committee meets from October through February and reviews admitted candidates on a weekly basis. It is not uncommon for the Committee to review a student’s credentials several times before making a final decision. Therefore, while some students are informed of a scholarship award shortly after being admitted, many more are not notified until much later. All students selected to receive a scholarship will be notified no later than March 1.”
Is it better to apply early/ASAP or wait til NMSF results publicly come out and be be ready to submit Sept 13? Our student is hoping to be considered for honors/merit/tuition exchange.
Only an admissions person can answer that. But if scores are high enough to potentially be an NMSF and the application is strong then I personally wouldn’t wait.
yes, there was a general information section on the second page of the letter about the merit scholarship nothing specific to my DD. Surprised if your didnt have that generic statement.
what does NMSF stand for?
