Received our in-state financial aid report today for the University of Pittsburgh.

Daughter has a 1340/1600 2000/2400 SAT, 3.8 GPA (UW) and we have a $15K EFC
Accepted in October 2009
Aprox COA $28K

No merit aid (no scholarships or grants)
All loans:
$5500 Stafford loan
$2500 Nurse loan
That's it

OUCH! Hope she has another choice with better aid!

Oh dear – that’s awful.

So much for Pitt being generous with financial aid. That’s ugly!

Pitt is generous with MERIT aid. I think it is unreasonable to assume that any public - especially OOS public - is particularly generous with need-based aid. Even then, that FA package is pretty harsh. Better luck with the other schools.

Yikes!!!

I hope your D applied to some financial safeties. With her stats, she could have gotten good merit from other schools that have good BSN programs.

^^^
I think the OP said they are in state for Pitt. Hopefully they have been cheating on their taxes. I don’t see any state or university aid in the OP’s “aid” package.
