I know University of Pittsburgh honors college says that you need a 1400 combined math and reading but I have a friend who goes there and he says there are people in the honors dorms who didnt have a 1400. I just received a 1380. My gpa is 3.8/4.3 and im in the 1st decile (top ten percent, thats what our school sends out). I have taken 9 science courses and 7 math courses during high school so my gpa isnt as high as it would be without those courses. Should I take the october sats and see if I can get above a 1400? Since pitt has rolling admissions I know it might be full by the time i submitted then. I am also waiting to get my ACT score back but it was my first time so I dont think it will be as high.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thank you!

Paula, I just asked basically the same question, but not specific to U of Pitt. I would paste the link but I’m not sure how to do that. Good luck.

Just retake the SAT to ease your worries. And, if you get a higher SAT than you expected, you could apply to more selective/prestigious colleges (only if you want).

Good luck :)
