University of Pittsburgh Merit Chances

Hello! I’m a current high school senior. I got accepted into the Univeristy of Pittsburgh College of Arts and Sciences and the Honors College and I was wondering what my chances are for merit. Here are my stats:
SAT: (Math and Critical Reading only) - 1460
GPA: 4.68 (W), 4.3 (UW)
Class rank: 2/250

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Is there any way to know what degree of merit aid I can receive?

Where else have you applied?

What is your projected FAFSA EFC?

How much can your parents pay each year for 4 years?

When did you get your acceptance? My daughter was accepted in October (last year) and received her merit in November, but it keeps coming through March. You certainly have the numbers to qualify for merit, but it is not guaranteed. Good luck- hopefully it works out for you.

Given that you just cleared the lower threshold for merit money, and that the average merit award from Pitt is around $12k/year, I’d guess you are in the running for a merit award in the range of 2k - 8k per year.

That’s a guess, and people more familiar with the particulars at Pitt would probably have more insight.

Thank you!

How can UW GPA be 4.3? What scale is this on?

^ it might be a scale that gives extra for A+

Our HS has that scale as well. Yes- there is extra for an A+.
