University of Pittsburgh Nursing

Hello everybody!

My name is Nicole I am seriously considering choosing University of Pittsburgh and joining the Class of 2019! I plan on majoring in nursing, and when I visited during Accepted Student’s Day, the nursing faculty and students both suggested looking into living in Lothrop. However, I am unsure if living in Lothrop is what I want, since it only houses nursing students and mainly single rooms. Although it is tempting to choose Lothrop because it is right next to the nursing building, and I can study will fellow nursing students, I would really like to surround myself with different people. I will be in classes all the time with nursing students, and I can, if I choose to, study with them together outside of a dorm regardless of where I live.

Has anyone lived in Lothrop that can that give me an idea of what it is like to live there? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!!

Did you enroll at Pitt Nursing. My d who is considering Pitt for Nursing has this very same question

Hi, my D will be starting Nursing in Fall 2017 and has the same question. Which housing did you choose for your Freshman year? How did you like it?

I have a freshman nursing major living in Lothrop this year and plans to stay next year as well. It’s very convenient to most nursing classes since a lot of the classes are in the Victoria Building right next door. The biggest plus for my kid is having a single (with a sink!). The building doesn’t have A/C, but has good air flow and it was only hot for the first several weeks. Feel free to PM me if you have any specific questions.
