University of Portland vs Lewis & Clark college

Hi! I am in the process of building my college list and wanted to narrow it down between two options: Uni of Portland & Lewis and Clark (I really want to go to school in the Portland area!). I will be majoring in political science and I am also pre-law and would go to these schools if they gave me a great scholarship (any info on their scholarships/cost would be great!) If anyone could help me decide/give me your own thoughts that would be great! Here is a quick pros/con list:

University of Portland:

Pros:
-nice location
-small student population
-nice campus
-Major: Political Science & Global Affairs (I like the department)

Cons:
-Less diverse
-More religious
-Core curriculum is more strict ( 3 years theology, have to take a science & math course, etc.)

Lewis & Clark college:

Pros:
-nice campus
-I can get a 3 + 3 masters in education (being a teacher in my 2nd career choice)
-more “liberal”
-more emphasis on the social sciences

Cons:
-not that diverse
-farther away than downtown portland
-student body seems a bit “disconnected”

My comments address L&C but not U Portland since I don’t know that school. If by diverse you mean number of African Americans then I agree L&C is not diverse. But they have many international students which is a different type of diversity.

I’m not sure what you mean by a disconnected student body. Sports aren’t prioritized but students attend just for fun. They have all kinds of on campus events/student talent nights for people to attend. And there is a bus that travels to downtown Portland daily.

There are good scholarship options for high scoring admits. My DD2 attended on 1/2 tuition scholarship. She was #1 in her HS class and scored 34 on the ACT. There were definitely some with full tuition scholarships but they are highly competitive.
