University of Puerto Rico: Rio Piedras

i'm currently a junior in high school and now that it's second semester i'm starting to seriously look at schools. i did a search on collegeboard.com for schools under $25,000 (total, tuition plus room and board) that offer spanish and mathematics as majors. i came across UPR rio piedras and was pleasantly surprised by both the price (16k total out of state) and academic standards (average SAT scores are decent). i knew somewhere there had to be a catch- my dad suggested the fact that only ten percent of undergrads live on campus. i did some google searches and i could barely find anything info on the school.

so to the point... has anybody attended the university of puerto rico at rio piedras? or know anything about it? maybe it's too good to be true... price, weather, etc...

the reason most people live outside of campus is because the students who attend are mostly puertorrican. UPR is a great school, yet most of the priviledged students choose to go to other schools depending on what they want to study.

If you’re trying to save money, maybe you should be looking for schools that will give you assured merit money for your stats? That would reduce your costs.

What are your stats?
