University of Richmond co2021 RD

So I just used the link to pay my deposit that someone posted a ways back to see if it would let me, even though I haven’t received a letter yet, and it worked. I don’t want to get my hopes up but I’m pretty sure that’s a good thing??? Has anyone else tried this and can confirm?

@Glang77 where are you from?

@rvalover7 Maryland

@Glang77 I could be wrong, but I think people in MD should have gotten their acceptances. Did you actually pay the deposit?

@rvalover7 Of course not, I just wanted to see if it would let me. And I agree with you; that’s why I was getting really scared. I guess I just won’t get my hopes up and keep waiting

D accepted! Live in MD and received package today. We are not high income and the financial aid was as advertised: very generous. Will be hard to turn down even if she’s accepted by one of her super reach schools. Btw, she was waitlisted at Wash U in St. Louis.

Waitlisted but I’m not going to accept. Richmond was sort of a “let’s see” application for me so I’m not gonna chance taking someone’s else’s spot at this point. Good luck to everybody else!

Just checked the mail- I got waitlisted :-< Richmomd was one of my top schools so I’ll accept and hope for the best!

Waitlisted :confused: kind of bummed, I thought I had a good chance

I’m scared to check mail

I am hoping that students who know they won’t be accepting a place at Richmond let them know right away. Thank you to those of you who have already done so.

Got accepted today in nc with a 4.0 gpa, 4.80 weighted, 35 act. Will have to turn down because we got 0 financial aid… instead I’ll go to unc for 20k a year! Hope one of you can take advantage of my spot.

I live in IL (Chicago area specifically) and have not received any mail from UR as of today, Monday. Anyone else in the midwest still waiting??

@somecarolinagirl You can go to Chapel Hill for $20k? Super jealous! We’re in SC & Chapel Hill was a dream school but too hard OOS & notoriously not great aid OOS. Congrats to you, amazing school!

Got accepted but the financial aid wasn’t as generous as I initially hoped…lost and not sure what to do.

Does anybody here know if there’s a groupme?

@pinkspider17 Hey! Was the aid different from what the NPC suggested? Everybody has been relatively unsurprised by it in this thread thus far (EDIT: mostly).
If you feel like you legitimately cannot afford the education or there is an misunderstanding on something, you can definitely try contacting the financial aid office and politely ask them about it while filling in any additional information that they should be aware of. They may very well take some of it into consideration if it is understandable.

Best of luck, and hope everything works out great for you!

@pinkspider17 Ugh, that happened to us to, put the word out to the grandparents & scrounged up enough to make it ok. Still harder than we are comfortable with & have no idea his we’ll do it but we’re gonna try. There are personal loans & a 10 month payment plan we hear that makes it easier. My heart goes out to you…

@cloudysmom I count my blessings every day too! As should anyone who lives in NC, Michigan, Virginia, California who gets accepted to cheap quality public schools. I’ve had to turn down some great private schools because chapel hill is too good of an offer
