Someone on reddit. I assume they talked to an AO

interesting. Iast year ea was 33% and rd was 17%. I would have thought rd would be lower this year but it is close

Did all the emails say ps if you’ve changed your mind you can withdraw your application? I thought that was odd - and perhaps a bad sign

yes mine said that to. I am thinking they will accept kids they know really want to come

Seriously? LOL um
does that mean they didn’t review the apps & we get a refund?? What a weird thing to put in the admissions notice. :unamused:

I think it just means that they got a lot of applications and if you aren’t planning on attending you should withdraw because they could accept someone else who really wants to go

I guess. This whole process has been really stressful! Will be relieved when March is over.

Hi everyone. I’m from Johannesburg in South Africa and I am a first year international applicant to the University of Richmond. Nice to meet you all and I can’t wait for Friday, although due to timezone differences I will be getting my RD decision on Saturday at 2am.

Good luck to you all! :slightly_smiling_face:

Oh my gosh can you imagine how long I have to wait? I’m so anxious. I won’t be sleeping on Friday, haha.

Did you submit a TOEFL? And SATs? I didn’t and the “awaiting” signs on my checklist worry me because I made my admission counselor aware that I would not be submitting those due to certain circumstances. I hoped it would have been waived, but no. Makes me a little less confident now. Oh well!

I dont know what a TOEFL even is haha but the SATs were optional dont worry! I submitted my scores, but only because I was happy with them and had the chance to test.

I can barely focus today
I cant imagine how anxious I will feel tomorrow

they also would’ve sent you an email warning you if you were missing something they needed! So unless you received an email you should be okay

Yeah I actually finished high school in 2019 and took a gap year in 2020. What a year it was! I had initially planned to take the SATs and I really wanted to give them a try but as soon as I had attempted to register, I was informed that test centres were filled up due to the COVID-19 restrictions and hence the inconvenience. It’s not a thing in a country so it was a lot to adjust to but nonetheless I was prepared.

Another thing is that I hate the idea of studying remotely and somehow I have a feeling that as an international student I will be requested to do so. Plus, the U.S imposed a travel ban on South Africa.

Are you a U.S citizen? :slightly_smiling_face:

I am, but I’m also a Dutch citizen so I have explored the possibilities of studying in both countries to see which one would give me the best chance at having in person classes. In the end Richmond is my top school but if things don’t work out with Richmond I’m looking at schools in the Netherlands as I speak Dutch!
