Hello all~
First off, I’m new here, so I apologize if I’m doing anything wrong in advance.
So I’ve decided that I want to do medicine as my career, and since I don’t want to be too far from home, I want to apply to both the University of Rochester or the University of Pittsburgh. Since I’m currently a junior, I just want to know if I’m going in the right direction, and what I need to make myself more appealing to admissions to better my chances at getting into either of these schools.
So the classes I have taken so far in high school but one have been all Honors or AP classes and my GPA from sophomore year is a high A- (92.45) and based on how I’m doing in my classes right now, it should go up to at least an A (93) by the end of the year.
I don’t have too many extracurriculars, sadly since my church takes up a big chunk of my free time. I have been a member of the children’s worship team ever since 7th grade, and I’ve recently started taking turns teaching my church’s weekly kids Bible study with some other people in the class. I also play piano for the adults worship service occasionally. In addition, I’ve started doing community service at my local Chinese school by helping out with their math class every week. In regards to school clubs, I am the treasurer for my school’s anime club.
Well that’s pretty much it, thank you for reading. I hope this post fits the forum standards.
