Oh, i see. Could that be the special case they were talking about?
@Meshmesha Are you from OM EL DONIA xD. eh el 7sl l so7bk el 7 el mn masr . Were they rejected/deferred /accepted ? Since you are here I guess that you were deferred.
@jillpnk Thank you as I was wondering if others were in the same “step 4” . Are you OOS for UR? We are in Ohio so I am not optimistic her decision will be in the first batch to be released. I think my D just wants to have her college choice decided so people can quit asking if she has decided yet:)
@Justamomtocarly OOS here also…in New England. Still waiting to hear from many colleges and won’t hear from them until mid-late March so there’s no ACTUAL urgency…just impatience on my part!
My D did not know about Dec 1 deadline for merit scholarship and applied by Jan 1st: does it mean that she won’t be considered for merit money at all?
@DBPrincess no, the dec. 1st deadline was for consideration for large merit scholarship awards, so i would assume that she is still likely to be offered an amount of merit aid
is the first reader usually the DEAN? or is it because I applied late they skipped me all the other readers?
@zaetoven i dont think u applied later than me. I submitted on 11:52 pm on 5th of jan xD
@zaetoven and my first reader was an admission counselor
So if your application is currently at Step 4, should you expect a decision by this week?
@sml1234 if you are on step 4 as part of their first batch, you will most likely get it tomorrow (Feb 27). Otherwise, probably in the first or second week of March.
Does someone know how much weight the mid year report has on the application? My first reader did not see it but my second reader will.
@scch99 it is very important because it is the best telling factor in your academic ability due to how recent it is.
Not too may hopes for me then. I got very bad grades this semester, I got a 90/100 GPA. Is that really bad? All my grades this last semester are above 90, just one B.
What do you think are my chances of getting in? I was selected as finalist for the Simon competition but I have a below average math score. What do you think? Also my cumulative gpa is 9.2, I think.
@scch99 I cant speak for your GPA because a 90 at one school is different than a 90 at the other. However, being selected as a finalist for the Simon competition will bode well for you. Good luck to you!
My S just found out that he is being recognized in the top 20 of his graduating class and has advanced to a national competition in Computer Programming, do you think he should make mention to admissions about it or at this point it just doesn’t matter.
I think that he should, on what step of the application is your son? Anyways, I think that even if he is in comitte, it’ll still matter, unless his decision has been released.
@scch99 My S is on Stage 4…praying he is accepted in the first batch. This is the only college he wants to go to…he only applied to other colleges because I made him and because we couldn’t commit to ED
All the best today, guys! I hope we can all hear good news
