Has anyone received acceptance/defer/reject letter yet from University of Rochester?

[University of Rochester : College Admissions](http://enrollment.rochester.edu/admissions/apply/freshmen/deadlines.shtm)

Use google, friend – you’re about to enter college.

I have not! My application is still waiting for the committee final decision. Do you know if everyone hears on the 15th, or if some people will hear sooner?

Hopefully we will receive a magic acceptance letter by Dec 15.

I hope so too! Good luck, see you next year hopefully!

yes, good luck!
one more week to go…

ED I letters have entered the mail stream. Best of luck to all the applicants! Most of you should receive these letters by the promised notification date of December 15th.

Do you know if Priority Review admits will know before Feb 15th??

https://enrollment.rochester.edu/admissions/apply/freshmen/deadlines.shtm

We will try to get all Priority Review decision letters delivered by February 15th. Depending on the volume of Priority Review applications, this date could always shift from mid- to late-February. I will happily post an update if the February 15th date becomes unrealistic, and you are always welcome to call our office for an update.

TSocash,
Is there any way we can find out the outcome while awaiting the decision letter?

Only your mailbox will hold the answer. You’ll have to play the waiting game as the physical letter travels towards your address. Remember, the farther you are from Rochester, the longer it takes for the decision letter to arrive.

Any bad indication? I received an e-mail from Rochester this afternoon asking for a family/Community recommendation letter. The timing is not right.

I was very confident that I will be accepted.

"We’d like to get to know you, not only as a Rochester applicant, but also as a member of your family and your community. This holistic approach gives us a more complete sense of who you are, beyond your application materials and test scores. A great way to do that is to ask a family member, a friend, or a member of your community to write a recommendation for you. "

What if my status is still on step 4? Am I not going to get a letter on the 15th or what?

Step 4 is the last step before having the notification of final decision. You are going to be notified soon (by 15th)

Does anyone aound Rochester area receive the notification letter? I am expecting it tomoorow. Please wish me good luck!

@dman32 Yes, you’re still going to get your letter by the 15th. U of R keeps you on Step 4 until well after you know you’ve either been accepted/denied. It’s because once people start seeing they’re on Step 5 they’d start calling the school for their decisions, but Rochester only sends acceptance/rejection letters via snail mail. So, it’s to prevent a whole bunch of people from calling them at once asking a question they can’t answer over the phone.

Thanks everyone

I got my acceptance package this Morning!

Good Luck to all U of R ED applicants!

I got my acceptance letter today too! Good luck to everyone else who applied ED!! :)

Where are you guys from? My friend is waiting to hear and we live in MA

I’m from northern nj :)
