University of Rochester ED2 thread

I haven’t seen any ED2 threads so I thought of creating this one. ED2 decisions were sent after Jan 12 in previous years. So, it would be great if you posted your decisions.

Good luck to all.

@Shiiro
Are you sure? I was told that they would be out in late Feb- mid March. You can as well ask them and please do inform here.

EDII is released roughly 3 weeks after submittal of signed EDII agreement form or by Feb 1.

If anyone is wondering, GEAR finalists should be notified Jan 21-28 per admissions.

Thank you @fbsdreams You’ve been a great help!

@Hellstein I am not sure for this year but I saw people getting their decisions on Jan 18. Some got theirs around Jan 12 as well but I can’t find the threads now. I only have the links to Jan 18 ones. Check these threads out!

EDII notification may be different this cycle as I just called Admissions and I was told notifications will be made mid Feb. Perhaps they received a larger then normal pool ?

Looks like it’s “wait and see” as previous years going back to 2008 have been 3 weeks after submittal with all notification by Feb 1.

I see so that’s the case. Considering how RD applicants themselves were started being notified from Feb 7~8 in the previous year, this year’s application pool is probably much higher.

GEAR notification is out.

EDII notifications are out.

I was deferred.
Anybody accepted or rejected?

I got straight up rejected.

“If pursuing a Rochester degree remains your long-term goal, I urge you to talk with an admissions counselor about establishing a transfer plan. Whether you consider this transfer route or pursue your degree elsewhere, I extend my best wishes to you in your future educational endeavors.”

Is this always included in the rejection letter?

I wonder if there is any chance after deferral. Does anybody know the deferral acceptance rate?

Has anyone else still not received their decision? My portal dosent have anything.

Classmate of my daughter rejected.

You are now in the RD pool, so statisctailly have the same chances as long as you meet/exceed the typical student profile.

@Hellstein you should submit a letter of continued interest (LOCI) and make sure that you highlight why Rochester, but more importantly what you bring to the student and academic life and how you will add value to Rochester. If possible also visit and make sure that you notify your regional advisor. Also make sure you have reviewed a good deal of students on Hive.

@Shiiro I am sorry to hear this. I am confident you will be successful at whichever University you end up at.

@mathow727 Have you received your decision. I haven’t received any thing.

Still waiting @“phila.et”

I still haven’t received my ED2 decision yet. is it only me or what?

I have a (probably silly) question about this - the UR website does not seem to have a deadline for ED2 applications. Has that changed for next year?
