my friends told me that RPI is more presitigous than URochester. I don't believe that, for UR has a higher ranking in US news. So I wonder how credible the ranking is.

Any opinions?

RPI...that is?

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute

any comments?

Rochester is definitely more prestigious.

Rochester is a bit better balanced. It has a great looking campus, and a program to get a free year.

I'd chose URochester, based on it's more traditional college feel. Just an opinion however.

IB.

UR is a much more friendly place than RPI and its more balanced for those who wanna explore their career choices while at UR. Otherwise - it has strong engineering, medical, and optics programs (science in general) but weak on the arts. RPI is mostly engineering focused - but I dont think the kinda ppl who go there r my kinda ppl =P

its up to u

For engineering, Rensselaer if far more prestigous than Rochester. For non-tech Rochester may have the advantage.

RPI all the way!!!

how sad...
stop bashing Rochester just cuz u cant get in Jenny

RPI is better for engineering but for most anything else, Rochester is better.
