I know that U of R is really hard to get into, and I'm really nervous about my decision. Everything on my application is glowing and my interview went really well, but my SATs are only a 1770 which is well below average. Do I still have a chance?
I'm third in my class, and have taken 5 APs. I'm president of national honor society at my school, senior class treasurer, and cheer captain. I also have a 4.0 unweighted gpa. How concerned should I be?

Please help me out

Your rank and the rigor of your schedule are competitive enough for U of R. U of R stresses the fact that their admissions are truly holistic so I don’t think your SAT score will ruin your chance of acceptance too drastically. I’d say you’ve still got a chance assuming that your essays are strong too, but your SAT may hurt your chance of merit scholarships.

UR: match

U Rochester: High match

Thanks guys!

If I’m not mistaken, Rochester has a test flexible policy which doesn’t require you to submit your SAT scores. If you have good AP scores and would like to submit those, I believe they would take them over the SATs. You may want to look into that option as well.

I love U of R. Did you interview? Those really help, and they’re pretty informal.

Yeah my interviewer actually said he thought I’d be a great fit. U of R is literally my dream school everyone there seems so nice and like they all love it there. I have backups, but I hope this one works out

Showing interest is huge, so I think you have a great shot. Perhaps I’ll see you next year!

Thank you so much for the encouragement! I really appreciate it!
