University of San Diego 2021

Thought I would make this because I haven’t found another one!

Notifications begin the week of February 13, per the USD Parent Presentation last week!

Nice! Are you applying, or are you parents? If you’re applying, what are your stats and major? I’m super excited/nervous

Good to know! Environmental studies, ACT 30, 3.88uw /4.28w, gold award, student body activities director, varsity athlete, mission trips, president of club, member of many clubs…

So excited to hear this! Political science, ACT 29, GPA 4.11. I took dual credit college classes in my junior and senior years of HS and did well. I’ve been on a gap year (working, volunteering, and taking a trip to France). Not a ton of ECs but the ones I did were long term and meaningful. Glowing teacher recs as well as one from my boss.

My birthday is 2/15…this notification would be a sweet birthday present!

Does anyone know about what level of merit scholarships USD offers? I applied economics, ACT 34, GPA 4.66. Just wondering if anyone has information about how much they have given in the past

The Net Price Calculator will provide you with a pretty good estimate of what Merit Scholarships you are in line for based upon ACT and GPA.

I received an email from USD saying I never send my ACT/SAT scores, but I saw the email extremely late. Will it matter how long it takes for them to receive the scores if I send them tonight, or should I pay the extra $31 for rush shipping?

@nylkoorb I would pay the rush shipping, then call the undergrad admissions office and let them know what the situation is (so they don’t think you’re just blowing off the application).

Does anyone know how the whole “late consideration” thing works? I applied by the Feb 1st deadline and it seems like a lot of people did that as well, but when would we get a decision and is it much more difficult to be accepted this way?

Looks like Class of 2021 Admission Tabs are starting to appear!

@2021Dad Interesting!! Thanks for posting. I received a new “Events” tab a few days ago, but my status is still Ready for Review. I wasn’t expecting to see an admit tab until next week at the earliest.

Admitted

Admitted! Do you have to apply for honors college or do they auto admit some students?

@waiting2017 I believe an invitation to apply to the honors college is included when they mail you an acceptance letter! I was told at the admission presentation that they don’t auto-admit.

Admitted!

Admitted! D - gpa uw 3.80 w 4.5 ACT 30 4 yr varsity athlete, strong community service, thrilled!!

For those of you that have been admitted already, when did you apply?

Where in the portal is the admission status shown?

@danceandbusiness @catbird1 Hi guys! I’d love to answer your questions. I submitted my app December 11th. The notification will be where you hover your mouse over applicant it will say: announcements, applicant, and then admitted. Also, as a side note, stats were 4.56 GPA 4.0 Unweighted 1410 SAT and applied under Biology/Pre-Health. I wish you all the best of luck!
