@secularpoetry I applied for Computer Science in the College of Arts and Sciences. Congratulations on your acceptance as well! @jmura1958 I received my packet in the mail and later via email. The email is just a congratulatory email and does not contain any exact information pertaining to merit aid.

Awesome! I’m sorry to keep pestering, but do you know if all admitted students get emails at the same time because I haven’t received one yet and I’m really nervous…:confused:

I am sure that you will get it soon. Perhaps it has been a lapse on the part of the admissions team at USF. Do not stress out.

Congratulations to everyone who got accepted! I got the email on the 23rd as well, and the packet shortly after. I’m super excited to be accepted, and I though I’d post my stats and merit award for future reference.

I also want to note that though I have quite a few college credits (I’ll get my Assoc. Arts the same time I graduate HS) I still applied and was accepted as a freshman. My admissions counselor said that USF is generous in terms of accepting transfer credits, which makes this school a great option for me (and anyone else coming in w/college credits)

[]Job/Work Experience: Freelance web design (self taught HTML/CSS coding; building e-commerce website for local business) and assistant teaching theatre classes.
[]Volunteer/Community Service: Quite a lot; I don’t know the total hours. Many of my extracurriculars were service oriented.

[]Essays: I thought my Common App essay was really good and had it reviewed and edited by a professional college counselor who did as well. The extra question was pretty good, but it wasn’t very thorough because of the small word limit.
[]Teacher Recommendations: Only sent one but it was written by my history professor and the letter was fantastic; very thorough, descriptive, and positive.
[li]Counselor Rec: Really quite good, because my HS is online I didn’t know her too well, but I talked with her a lot about it/myself first.[/li][/ul]

Reflection:

  • []Where else you are applying or have already applied: Accepted EA at Gonzaga, St. Mary’s Texas, Seattle University, and Loyola New Orleans (with similar scholarships). Deferred EA to RD at Tulane University. Applied to many other places, a few being: NYU, USC, George Washington, Fordham, University of San Diego, Cal Berkeley, UCLA, and some other super-reach ones (Stanford, Pitzer, a few Ivy Leagues) … I’ve applied to a lot of places as my Common App fee was waived due to income.
    [    ]General Comments/Advice/Hindsight: Congratulations to everyone who has gotten accepted. I’m super excited about USF and the prospect of going to school in San Francisco, and I’m going down to SF next week to visit the school! This is a top option for me (the community college credit transferability is huge). Best of luck to everyone who has applied RD and will hear back later!
