Hey guys ! I just got accepted to both the University of San Francisco and the University of Miami and it’s giving me a huge headache. I’m a french student living in California, I studied 2 and a half years at a community college in Santa Monica and I decided to apply as a transfer student ( which makes me an international transfer student ) for the Spring semester to USFCA and UM. Also, I’m a computer science student which makes USFCA very attractive to me. I know that the University of Miami is the archetype of a good american school, and the french little boy inside of me is screaming that it is the university I’ve always dreamed of because it represents a lot of things I imagined as a kid about studying in the US. It is more selective than USFCA and Miami is ( I think ) less expensive than San Francisco to live in. But on the other hand, the University of San Francisco is beautifully located, in one of the most important places to study Computer Science in and the ambiance there seems calmer which would suit me as I’m a very introverted student. The Urban vs Suburban aspect is also very important to me as USFCA is located at the heart of San Francisco. If any of you can post your opinions and thoughts about your experiences or what you think I should do, I’d greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
USF & UMiami are very different schools in many respects including campus culture & climate. If you feel that USF is a a fit for you, then I suspect that Miami would not be.
@yohleroux Since this is your third post on this I think you are definitely looking for someone to say go to USF. So go if that is where you want to be and you can afford it. You need to be happy. Even if U of Miami is rated higher yett you would feel more at home in SF then go to USF! Life is too short to go where you think you should or because someone else thinks you should. Go! Good luck!
@readthetealeaves Yeah, I’m not familiar at all with those universities and I’m trying to get as many opinions as I can on the different forums even though it’s a very personal and subjective decision to make. I want to be sure not to regret it ( it sounds weird even to me ).
