University of Scranton Class of 2020 Decisions

Hey everyone! Since the December 15 decision is quickly approaching, I figured it would be nice to have one of these since I don’t see one already made. You know the score, post your stats, extracurriculars, etc. Good luck!

I’ve been watching the mail every day… the waiting is stressful! Scranton is one of my top choices. Hopefully decisions come early and good luck to everyone

I applied early action as well. I wish the time would go by sooner!
What other schools did you guys apply to?
Good luck guys!

I’ve been waiting too. Does Scranton only give out decisions by mail? Because if so, I’ve wasted like two weeks checking online lol

I’m applying to Scranton as a Nursing major. So far I applied to Temple(Deferred :frowning: ), Quinnipiac (waiting), York College of PA (as far as I know, still waiting…my Status changed from “Applied” to “Confirmed”. Idk if it changed because they finally updated my list of missing materials, or because I got in?), UMass Lowell, Duquesne (Accepted within a week of applying!) and obviously Scranton. I was going to apply to URI but decided against it. I don’t want to apply to too many OOS publics, as their financial aid is usually “eeeeeh”.

Scranton isn’t my number one choice, Temple actually is. But Scranton is definitely tied with Duquesne for second so far!

How was Scranton, if you guys visited it? I’ve heard so many great things about it,

Also, do you guys think I did not apply to enough schools? The response I got from Temple has me feeling like I don’t have enough options…

@teiluuuj Hey I applied as a nursing major as well. Congrats on your acceptances! So far I’m in penn state and university of tennessee. I’m pretty sure they tell you online. My best friend visited Scranton and she really loved it. She said it was a beautiful campus. You’re fine with the amount of schools you applied to- as long as you’ve gotten into one, which you have. Good luck!

I applied for the occupational therapy program. Loyola Maryland is actually my top choice but it all comes down to the scholarship money. I would strongly consider going here though!
I applied to Fairfield, Marist, Loyola Maryland, Adelphi, and St. John’s.

I’m totally with you about the scholarship money thing Scranton and Qunnipiac are my most expensive schools ($50,000+) but that’s expected from private schools.

@classof2020ny thanks! Congrats to you as well, I would have totally applied to pen state if I had the stats! Their program is definitely up there with Upitt, Upenn, etc.
and I’m glad you think so because I only applied to 6 schools compared to my friends who’ve applied to 10-12! I feel like I may throw in another school that has a free/low cost application

What made you guys apply to your schools by the way? What were your ultimate decision makers?

Definitely visiting the school and getting a feel for the environment and surrounding area and student body.

I wanted to throw a small school in there, since I applied to so many medium and large schools. Also my twin sister and both my best friends were applying (and I’m an Office fan) so Scranton seemed perfect.

I applied to the occupational therapy program… Also applied to Ithaca, Elizabethtown, St. Kates, Xavier, and USC. Right now it’s looking like St. Kates because it’s close to home and they offered me quite a bit of $$, but I absolutely loved Scranton when I visited.

It doesn’t look like there’s a section where your acceptance/rejection would be online? I feel like you only find out by mail

Had a tour of the new building for OT/PT/Exercise science (Leahy Hall). Awesome facility. Although I’m partial as a grad, the programs in the school of Professional Studies are top notch.

This is on the Web Portal:

You will need to click on that link to log in and view your electronic decision letter, as well as unlock any decision-related sections of your status page.

I saw the above as well; however when I called to check application status I was told that acceptances and rejectiosn go out in the mail but if they’d like you to consider another major in order to be accepted, that’s an email. Weird.

Ah, I see the message. I guess we find out starting Monday!
