I have been accepted into both Moore and Pamplin schools of business. I was looking for any feedback on either of the schools. I plan on studing finance with a minor or second major possibly in international business. I know Moore has an extremely difficult international bus however. Also any comments on the schools at large as well would be helpful. I had put this in the business sub group, but I did'nt get any replys. Thanks

Virginia Tech > University of South Carolina

Have you visited both?

USC's international business program is one of the very best in the country, but admission is only granted to a small number of students at the end of one's sophomore year. Getting into the business school at USC is not difficult, but this does not guarantee admission into the international business program. So it may come down to instate vs. out of state tuition rates and where do you feel more comfortable as these are very different campus settings and environments.

I have visited both schools. I'm going back to see both of them in a few weeks. The reason why I'm not planning on staying instate was because I live in New Hampshire and I just wanted to see a different part of the country, meet new people etc. Also the instate tuition to UNH is almost the same as the out of state tuition to both these schools.

Id go to USC. the campus in my opinion is a lot nicer and Columbia, South Carolina is a really nice town. on the other had, Vtech has a nice campus but a really really boring location out in the middle of nowhere. Academically they are the same in terms of business though Vtech is rated better overall than South Carolina.
