University of South Carolina Early Action for Fall 2022 Admission

They didn’t say - but that’s a good question!

I believe any of the majors that show on the admissions portal can be changed now. My daughter just changed hers from CS to Information Science. It says it takes 10 days to process. It took about seven. In the portal there is a drop down and you can pick “change your first choice major”. When I looked, different engineering majors were listed so I think he could change it now . There are majors they will not allow people to change into right now. Business is one of them.

Thank you so much - that is very helpful.

And you can still change it at orientation. UofSC is very relaxed on changing majors as long as it isn’t one of those impact majors like Nursing or International Business to name a few.

Regular admission decision for UofSC is usually done in mid-February. Never can tell the exact date, but I would say it probably starts next weekend if not this coming weekend.

This would be great news if decisions came out soon

When do honors college decisions come out?

I think it is Feb 15. I am curious as to how many spots they usually still have open for the February HC selection. I wonder if most of them were notified in December (and just a few more added in February)?

Same here!

Anyone hear back from honors this evening? My son was denied for honors, which I’m not surprised about but was still holding out for a glimmer of hope. Letter said there were more than 4600 applications for 600 spots. It didn’t say anything about Capstone so I guess he has to wait until mid-March. He was given the “at least” instate + $500 a year scholarship, so I’m hoping he will be accepted into Capstone.

Same here. No to HC but “at least in-state” tuition reduction (in original acceptance). Capstone would be great…

My son heard back Fri night, did not get in. Not surprised, but still stung a little. Glad to have one more thing to cross off of the list of “things we are waiting on”… Hopefully we’ll find out about merit for UofSC in the next few weeks. Would love for him to commit and focus on the future!!!

Does anyone know how many students were accepted in the EA round in December? I haven’t seen any application and admissions stats.

My son was deferred OOS. Waiting patiently.

Same. But so difficult

Do we know when they generally release decisions? It’s been a brutal admissions season for us. Daughter applied reg admission.

In last year’s thread, it looks like it was February 17th (Wednesday) and then again March 15th (Monday).

So let me get this straight, in order to apply for housing (or get her space in line), my daughter will need to not only pay a housing Deposit of $150 ($50 of which is non refundable), she will also have to pay a non refundable enrollment deposit of $200? Considering that she, like many others, is still waiting on decisions from other schools, the school is making bank on these non refundable fees for students that do not end up matriculating there. When my 2015 grad applied and ultimately enrolled at UofSC, housing priority was based on the admissions application date, which is certainly fair.
