Hey guys. Background, im 14 and am going to be a sophmore in high school. Yes i may be thinking way too far into the future, but thats just how i am. I like to plan for things very early.
So i want to go to USC and major in Computer Science (Games). I also want to get a full scholarship and i know that USC is highly competitive. Last year (8th grade) i got straight As. This year, i got one C, and a 69 on my Geometry finals… Will this hurt my chances to get into USC, or get a full scholarship? How much is freshmen year factored in? I think im gonna do better in Algebra 2 because i actually really like algebra, and was one of my strongest subjects in 8th grade. My final grade overall was 82 for geo, and everything else was over 90, with one 89. Factoring all this in, my GPA for this year (freshmen) was 3.7. Is that GPA bad?
So yeah, does this C in Geometry with a 69 for my final exam affect my chances?
Also, just a side question, i got over all 90’s in world history (over 95’s if the 5 point curve for Honors classes is taken into account) but my counselor said that my teacher did not recommend me for Honors US History for next year (sophomore). Should i email my teacher over this?
