Hey, i'm applying for University of Southern california for early action. Part 1 of the application is due october 15 but it's optional.
USC Undergraduate Admission - Dates & Deadlines
I took the sats last week and i know i definitely did better than last time. part 1 asks you for ur SAT scores but the scores from last week are coming out the 23rd. So....does part 1 actually matter? ( it saves you $15 later on) and should i just send in part 1 with my previous sat scores or should i just wait for the new scores to come in and send everything in after i get my scores?

It doesn't matter. It's not the real application. you can put your new SATs in part 2 of the real application later on. For now if you are really going to apply to USC, put part 1 in so you save 15 bucks.

Last year, USC did not have early action. Do not confuse part I with early action. Decisions come in 2009.

Eric, the Part 1 is really for USC to open a file. It is not part of the materials that admission committees will base their decisions on. Your later SAT scores can be updated on Part 2. My D also had an improved SAT score in October after submission of Part 1.
There is no EA at USC, ..however be aware that if you'd like to be considered for a merit scholarship, you must submit your Part 2 by an earlier date as indicated on the website. (Last year I believe it was Dec 10). As mdcissp mentions above, all decisions are made from late January through April.

oh crap, i don't know why i thought they had EA. oh well. alright, thanks guys
