University of St Andrews/Edinburgh Chances

<p>My family is tired of listening to this but I still require some feedback. I am an American junior in a public northeast highschool. </p>

SAT: (retaking in June)
M: 580 CR: 650 W: 550
1230/1600 1780/2400
APs: (approximate scores)
US: 3 English Lang: 4
Next year I'm taking macroeconomics, comparitive government, English literature.</p>

<p>I know that international schools pay less attention to extraciriculars but mine are:
Women's Crew- 4 years, captain, head coxswain
Drama Club- secretary
Algebra tutor
School Radio
I also am interning over the summer for a finance firm and would be applying as a management student in the house of arts. </p>

<p>I know it is a very American thing to participate in “chance me” but there really is no point. You are being “chanced” by other students, not admissions tutors. If you have any questions, write the university. They are wonderful about replying. </p>

<p>Your “ECs” are irrelevant and will not be considered. You academic qualifications are a bit low, but they could be counter-balanced by outstanding references. The UK universities refer to this as “contextual” information. So apply and find out.</p>
