I am currently a freshman in college about to transfer to another school. I recently toured both Ole Miss and University of Tennessee. I am currently pursuing a degree in business, maybe accounting but not sure if I like it yet. After touring both campuses I loved the looks, size, and academics at Ole Miss. UT Knox has a great location, large student body, and a lot to do in the town of Knoxville. I am heavily involved in greek life and my fraternity is good at both places. Many tell me that the students are Knox are not as clicky and it will be a easier transfer, but I do not know if that is true. Any advice or opinions?
Hey! I currently attend UTK and I honestly don’t like it very much, I’m actually trying to transfer out. I’m out-of-state, and that can be hard at UT. Greek life is huge here, and if you’re into it then it’s probably one of the best places you could go. I’m in a sorority, but it’s really not my style as I find it very fake, although frats are different for sure! Knoxville is honestly a very small town, and once you’ve gone to Market Square once and gone to a party in the Fort, you’ve done all there is to do. If you’re ok with doing the same things every weekend and going to the same parties, you’re fine. To most people at this school, UT is the best four years of their lives! It’s just ultimately not for me, because I’m used to actual big-city life. Hope this helped!
